Chloe Mae Studios invites artists of all ages and at every stage of their practice to participate in SMALL WORKS OPEN SHOW 2026, presented in partnership with the Visual Arts League of Allen (VALA).
SMALL WORKS grows from a shared commitment to support local artists, foster creativity, and bring people together through art. By removing the jury for entry, artists at different ages, stages, and points in their creative lives can share the same gallery walls. Young artists, students, emerging artists, lifelong makers, and established professionals are invited to exhibit side by side, creating a snapshot of the creative community around us.
A selection panel from the Visual Arts League of Allen will review the exhibited artwork and select five Outstanding Artist Award recipients, each of whom will be invited to participate in a 5-person group exhibition at Chloe Mae Studios in 2027!
EXHIBITION GUIDELINES & FAQs
1. Are there specific artwork guidelines?
Yes, just one: keep it small! All 2D and 3D artwork must fit within a maximum size of 12" x 12" x 12". All media are welcome, and the theme is open. Artwork must be family-friendly. 2D artwork must be ready to hang with a secure wire or sawtooth hanger. Artwork must have a sale price of $200 or less.
2. Who can participate?
The show is open to artists of all ages and experience levels. Artists under 18 may participate with parent or guardian permission.
3. Will any artists receive special recognition?
Yes. A selection panel from the Visual Arts League of Allen will review the exhibited artwork and select five Outstanding Artist Award recipients.
4. What do Outstanding Artist Award recipients receive?
The five winners will be invited to participate in a 5-person group exhibition at Chloe Mae Studios in 2027!
5. Is there an opening reception?
Yes. The Opening Reception will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
6. What are the exhibition dates?
The exhibition will be on display in the Chloe Mae Studios gallery from November 7, 2026, through January 30, 2027.
7. How many artworks can I enter?
You may enter up to 3 artworks.
8. Can I enter artwork that has been exhibited before?
Yes. Both existing and new work are welcome.
9. What does it cost to participate?
The participation fee is $15 per artwork.
10. When does registration open?
Registration opens Friday, September 18, 2026.
11. When does registration close?
Registration closes on Friday, October 16, 2026, at 11:59 PM.
Registration may close earlier if the exhibition reaches capacity.
17. Do I submit photos of my artwork online?
No. Artists complete the online registration form and payment online, then bring their physical artwork to the scheduled drop-off. We will label the work during drop-off on Sunday, October 18th between 12:00 – 3:00 pm.
18. Can my artwork be for sale?
Yes. Artwork may be priced up to $200. Not For Sale (NFS) artwork is welcome
19. Is there an artist/gallery commission split?
Yes. Artists receive 70% of the sale price. Chloe Mae Studios retains a 30% gallery commission.
20. When do I drop off my artwork?

21. Do I have to be considered for the 2027 exhibition?
No. During registration, you may choose whether you would like to be considered for the 2027 Invitational Exhibition.
22. When do I pick up my artwork?
Unsold artwork must be picked up on Saturday, January 30, 2027, between
10:00 AM and 2:00 PM.
23. What are the important dates to remember?

• Friday, October 16, 2026 (11:59 PM) - Online Registration Closes 2026
• Sunday, October 18, 2026 (12:00–3:00 PM) - Artwork Drop-Off
• Saturday, November 7, 2026 (6:00–8:00 PM) - Opening Reception & Awards Announcement
• Saturday, January 30, 2027 - Artwork Pick-Up (10:00 AM–2:00 PM)
